Aradippou is situated on the southern part of Cyprus, within easy reach of Larnaca International Airport. Historically it was an agricultural and stock breeding village, which was refashioned by the building boom that followed the Turkish invasion of 1974. Nowadays, Aradippou is the center of the national motorway network and Rizoelia Junction is well known to almost every Cypriot. Aradippou has been proclaimed a municipality in 1986 and since then it has confirmed its position as a vigorous town.

Aradippou, after it was nominated in Municipality, determined its municipal limits and is the second bigger Municipality of Cyprus in extent of ground with 42.982 square governmental acres. The population of Aradippou reaches today the 20.000 residents.

The town has taken its name after King Aradippos, its founder. Excavations have brought to light important architectural remains, dating back to the Achaean Greek period. Aradippou was also renowned in Mediaeval Times because of a royal villa called “La cour de la Despotissa”, which belonged to the Lady Margaret de Louisianan, grand daughter of Amary, Prince of Tyre, and sister of Leon VI.

The cultural growth of community takes place methodically also organised with the various honorary events for persons that have been distinguished and have offered to Aradhippoy, with lectures, anniversary events, exhibitions, publications k.a. Achievement of objectives on cultural growth constitute the establishment of artistic - Folklore event (on 18 October) that it has basically folklore character. Various committees were recommended for resolution of problems of the community with as long as the possible bigger attendance of the citizens.

Aradippou hosts in its municipal limits the bigger part of industrial areas that serves the wider region of urban cluster and entire Cyprus. These are: the area of Free Trade, southern of the motorway Larnaka - Limassol, the industrial area of limited degree of harmful effect (Area Ba3) southern of the motorway Larnaka - Kofenou and the governmental industrial region Larnaka that although that it has been included in the municipal limits of Larnaka, is found in the region Aradippou.
